Van Jones has a history of activism. The founder-exec director of the Oakland, CA-based Ella Baker Center for Human Rights has also emerged as a national environmental leader, calling for green economic development in urban America.

Van Jones is the founding president of Green For All, a national campaign for green-collar opportunities, and worked for passage, in the House, of the Green Jobs Act of 2007. Jones holds a J.D. from Yale Law School and has worked as a journalist, independent publisher and cartoonist.
