    Oh, yes, meanwhile ...permafrost is melting, the climate is changing, humans are urbanizing and mechanized food production is expanding on a massive scale on all continents to provide for growing urban populations which have declining fresh-water supplies per capita. The pattern, trend and prospect of these developments is not entirely encouraging for the future public health of humans or the entire ecosystem. Unless these trends are slowed, stopped or reversed a 'business as usual' scenario is likely to be quite unstable in the coming decades.
