Forthcoming E J Research Symposium

This is to announce a national/inernational environmental justice research symposium at the University of Michigan's School of Natural Resources and Environment. The conference is scheduled for June 7-9, 2007 in Ann Arbor.

2007 is shaping up to be a year with many high-profile activities being planned around environmental justice issues; this is one of them. We are hoping to gather around 200 environmental justice researchers to focus on research in this fied.

We have just launched the website with conference information (the
site is still under construction so bear with me). We have a call for
abstracts due February 15th and a call for papers (for those wanting
to submit articles for a book) on May 30th.

The url for the website is:

I am hoping to use the opportunity to create an Environmental Justice Research Directory and Database. I would love for you to participate by providing names and contact information of EJ researchers to include in this compendium (which will be released at the conference; a web version will also be made available).

Please pass this on to others who are interested. If you know of students working in this field, please encourage them to attend the conference and make a presentation.
