Environment and Development in the 21st Century

Harvard University Center for the Environment   Environment Directory
The newly established Harvard University Center for the Environment provides a focus for interdisciplinary, cross-faculty research and education in the field of environmental studies at Harvard. The Center assumes and extends the mission and activities of the University Committee on Environment, created in 1991.

  A directory of faculty, lecturers, and senior staff involved in environmental research, education, or outreach at Harvard University. The directory is searcheable by last name or affiliation.

Center Sponsored Programs   Discussion Lists and Newsletters
As part of its mission, the Harvard University Center for the Environment facilitates and supports team-based, interdisciplinary research projects undertaken by Harvard faculty members to address environmental problems of global significance. Currently sponsored projects include research on campus sustainability, China, community and environment, environmental economics, environmental values, global environmental assessment, India, religion and ecology, sustainability science, and water and health.

  The Harvard University Center for the Environment maintains several electronic mail discussion lists and newsletters. The Harvard Environment Network Bulletin is a weekly calendar of environmental events in the greater Boston area. EnvConfs-L, EnvJobs-L, and EnvPubs-L distribute announcements of conferences, job opportunities, and publication notices respectively.

Guide to Environment at Harvard   Environmental Information Center
An overview of environmental research, education, and outreach throughout Harvard University. Includes descriptions of degree programs, certificate programs, fellowship opportunities, student groups, library resources, and seminars/lectures.

  A unit of the Harvard College Library that serves the information needs of Harvard's environmental research, education, and outreach enterprise. The Center houses the Environmental Science and Public Policy Archives and provides access to databases, electronic journals and newsletters, and reference guides.

Environment Course List   Environmental Operations & Recycling
A browseable list and searchable database of courses with environmental components offered by Harvard University and affiliated institutions.

  University Operations Services provides a wide range of environmental health and safety services and operates an aggressive solid waste and recycling program.
